Jan is spending his summer vacation from teaching working on fishing boats, and fortunately for us he's a lobsterman at least part of the time.

Mel,
Dillon and Sue relaxing before dinner.

Kerry,
Sue and Mel had salad, bread and as they say in Connecticut "Chowdahh"
under control in the kitchen.

The
Keg-o-Q was a big success. A big pile of hardwood coals buried in seaweed
is the only way to steam seafood. Jan cut a keg in half the night before,
and this was its inaugural as a lobster steamer. Yes he still has a
left hand, it just happens to be cut off in the photo.

Jan
is hoping to start leading school tours to Africa next summer. Hopefully
he'll be back in time to play lobsterman in August.

Rick
and Kerry (far left and right) rounded out the dinner party. All six
of us are planning to get together again in a few weeks in Martha's
Vineyard for an end of summer celebration.

Once
the food was on the table it got really quiet for a while.
